Making a Difference: Personalized Assistive Devices for Panagiotis

Making a Difference: Personalized Assistive Devices for Panagiotis 200 246 Enabling Website e-Νable Greece

On May 23, we visited AMYMONE and delivered a series of splints for one of their students, Panagiotis. His physiotherapist, Sophia, requested a splint to help rest his hands, which naturally tend to curve inward.

We provided several designs in various sizes to ensure the best fit for Panagiotis. With Sophia’s expertise, we customized one of the proposed designs to suit the unique physiology of his hands. The remaining splints will be used for other children facing similar challenges.

We’re now awaiting feedback from Sophia to finalize the improved design with Velcro attachments for stability and to provide two splints—one for each hand.

Thank you for trusting us!

If you or someone you know needs an assistive device—for yourself, a friend, or even a pet—don’t hesitate to contact us.
Our devices are delivered free of charge to the final recipient.

Enhancing Accessibility: Designing an Inclusive Shopping Experience for the Visually Impaired in Kallithea

Enhancing Accessibility: Designing an Inclusive Shopping Experience for the Visually Impaired in Kallithea 200 165 Enabling Website e-Νable Greece

On May 23, an initial visit was conducted at the Masoutis store in Kallithea, Attica, with the goal of assessing the store’s suitability to incorporate accessibility features for individuals with visual impairments.

The visit was coordinated by Mr. Thanasis Sideris and Ms. Lia Avraam from the Accessibility Support Academy, who are designers and accessibility consultants specializing in visual impairments.

Under their guidance, we will design a tactile-audio map for the store. A second visit to the store will follow to conduct a more detailed survey of the space and analyze the desired points of interest to be included in the tactile-audio map.

This is an exciting approach to accessibility for everyone, introduced by a large-scale retail store that aims to provide autonomy for individuals with visual impairments.

The Kallithea area was selected as it hosts the largest number of visually impaired individuals in the country.

Stay tuned for the next steps! We would love to hear your ideas for creating a more accessible everyday life for everyone.
