The project aimed at the development of a methodology for transforming 2D digital images (from school books, fairytales or other leaflets) into 3D printed tactile images for Visual impaired students. Moreover the images of two visualized fairytales designed by Amimoni, during the project “Fairytale without limits”, were transformed into tactile images, “Gata Koumpara” & “Koukouska“. This action is implemented in the frame of the programme Points of Support and is being funded by the following charity organizations: John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, TIMA Charitable Foundation, Hellenic Hope charity organisation, Captain Vassilis & Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation, A. G. Leventis Foundation, A.C.

Laskaridis Charitable Foundation, Costas M. Lemos Foundation and Bodossaki Foundation. In the frame of the project, a guidebook and an online video were designed for guiding any stakeholder who wishes to transform any digital image into a .stl file and final, via 3D printing, into a tactile image.

Below you can download the .stl files (in order to 3D print them by yourselves or ask a 3D printing expert to do it for you) for two fairytales:

Here you will find the audio and visualized form of the fairy tale and here the .stl files for 3D printing the images and transforming them into tactile images.
